Firefly-esque WH40K?

I'm using the Dark Heresy rules (so a copy of Dark Heresy would be helpful) with some stuff from Rogue Trader, but that's mostly shit that doesn't need us to do anything (like refurbishing supplies).

Rogue Trader and Dark Heresy characters are fully compatible, the former start more badass though.

Understanding? Don't worry about it, we'll work through it as we go if need be. I'm rusty as hell and in previous games we've had a lot of back and forth. As always, if you can justify something to me (as GM) then it can be done.

Positions?

We'll need:

Pilot (someone with Pilot(stellar)
Mechanic
Medic
Assorted muscle

That said, play what you want and I can fill in the spots with characters if need be. I usually play a muscle character anyways, just to fill in gaps and give me something to do other then GM.

Alright, I'll have read through the DH book that Deep gave me (if I can find it, I've misplaced it on my hardrive...somewhere).

I have it on disc...somewhere. If need be I'll host it.

A quick glance at RT informs me that a lvl 1 RT character is equivalent to about 5-5500 XP in DH and a lvl 2 is about 6000.

Is there a way to get a Void Born Psyker in there? If not an engineer/tech-priest type character works for me.

I was going to give you guys a chart, psyker doesn't seem to have the skill anywhere in the first six ranks. That said, I can just give the Navigation(Stellar) talent to your character as a special.

Well, apparently according to the DH book, anyone who is void born gets the inherent Navigation(Stellar) ability. So it's more of a racial thing than a role thing.

That's cool. Deep and Tsu (I think) are doing RT characters so we'll wait and see before I decide.

Yeah, I'm going with a Forge World born Void-master, so piloting pretty much anything is covered, along with Navigation (Stellar). Couldn't hurt to have a backup, though.

All I need to know now is how much starting cash and XP we have, and I can wrap the character up.

And everyone wants a lunatic psyker on board. I suppose I could technically fulfill the role of an Astropath if wanted?

Ok, if Preston is doing a Void-Master then he can start at lvl 2 for his character (same with Deep) and those of us doing DH characters can take 6,000xp to bring us up.

Money...not sure yet. 1500 sounds good as long as the entire crew isn't carrying meltas.

So I hope to work out the particulars of the ship today, as 9'er Domestic and the dependants are going to a movie tonight.

So I hope to at least hash out the capabilities of the medical bay, cargo capacity, shuttles and the ground vehicle.

Res, RT characters start at lvl 2 so I'll say 2500. If I recall correctly RT characters start with having about 5,000xp spent during character creation. KInda fucked up.

So. I'll have 2,500 xp to spend? Wow.
