Re: The Floor is Open
I can relate to that. I hope it goes as planned, man.

Well, I can still walk! I was pretty banged out yesterday from the "twilight" anesthetic, and I've been suffering from insanely high blood sugars thanks to the steroid, but aside from some bruising and stiffness (which I was warned to expect) the actual pinced-nerve pain seems to be subsiding.

Re: The Floor is Open
So for those that want to game and have been wondering what's going on. Currently I'm pretty backed up:
-Winter is coming and I have to prep for it in regards to the animals. Stalls need winterizing, straw and food need to be stockpiled
-Deer season is next week and coyote trapping season is open. Still have to put my traps out. Rifle needs sighting in for both.
-water needs to be run from pump house into the barn. That's about 300 feet of hosing.
-a sow got into the board pen, so we may be having piglets in February...not good
I have no time to run a game. Play, I can make time but there's too much involved in running one. Fortunately I've been approved as a medical marajauna patient and I'm slowly working through this list now that effective pain meds are at hand.

Re: The Floor is Open
#1 - I'm starting a new job tomorrow. I'd be willing to GM a game, but I honestly can't say for sure that I'd be able to until I get my feet wet for a bit.
#2 - Why is a littler of pigs a bad thing if you're raising hogs?
#3 - As a former (and very dedicated) user of non-medical marijuana, I know it can help with the pain but I don't think it's much help in the "getting shit done" department.

Re: The Floor is Open
1. Okie dokie
2. It was recommended that we wait till April/May for piglets, cause of the cold here. -40 could kill them.
3. Different strains give different effects. I found the street stuff to be almost always of the "fall asleep" kind (indicas). I've got Sativas and Sativa dominate hybrids here, it's more energizing.
Unless you use to much. 1-2 fills of my vape in the morning and I'm good to work.

Wow, I didn't know that the pigs would be exposed to that sort of temperature. Do the hogs endure that too?

Re: The Floor is Open
Yeah they do, I've been told to fill their stalls with straw and they should be ok. They don't get exposed to wind at least.
We're considering an outdoor wood furnace for the barn.
