Survival, rebirth

Alright, I'm ready to raise this beast from the grave, though with some changes.

1) Scraping the first game, we're starting fresh here.
2) Simplifying the rules a lot. This one is going to play like one of those old text based rpgs, though with a lot less "Command not understood" responses. You tell me what you want to do, where you look, what you say, etc, and I'll give you the results. If you ask, I'll even tell you what kind of odds you have to succeed for when I think a roll is called for.
3) I'm still going to be trying to kill you horribly, and now I'll have less rule dodging to do towards that goal
4) The game will still play as a solo adventure, so no one has to wait for anyone else(other than me). As soon as I get a player signed up, I'll start.
5) Post your character with your intention to play. Give me whatever info you feel like. If all you want to do is give me a name, that's good enough (though I might then fill in the details as the game goes). Whatever you want your character to be, feel free, you do not have to limit this to 40k in anyway. Do keep in mind though, that if I think you are trying to abuse this freedom of selection, I will treat your character sheet as a request form submitted to an understaffed and minimally budgeted department. You might get what you ask for eventually, but you'll have to earn it.

Unnecessary. If you want proficiency at something, just go ahead and claim it. Your success in this game has nothing to do with your ability to optimize a character, but rather in your ability to think both logically and creatively, and some good luck. If you really want to throw out some numerical stats, you can and I will take them under advisement, but you could just as easily say "he's athletic" instead of "Str 17, Dex 16". When you face a physical challenge, your odds will end up being the same. This game will have a lose guideline more so than actual rules.
