Growing a letter plant

The game begins with a single one letter word. The next person to post has to use that letter, plus another letter of their choice to make a new word. And the next person has to use those two letters plus another letter of their choice to make yet a third word. And so on. When enough letters are in play to make it possible multiple words can be made, but they have to form some kind of sentence, they can't just be random words.
Example of play
Post 1: A
Post 2: At
Post 3: Ate
Post 4: Hate
Post 5: Lathe
If someone screws up or if the letter plant goes more than 24 hours without an addition, it dies and the game resets.
And so, the game begins
