Warhammer Fantasy?

I know we have a bunch of games and some we could restart and such but I've got an e-copy of 2nd Edition Warhammer Fantasy (the RPG) and I feel the pull for an epic dungeon crawl.

I have an outline for an adventure; forgotten dwarf treasure?

So if anyone is interested speak up. The system is similar to DH but the careers are more restrictive.

I'm interested. I think if we have a few games going at once, if one or more stalls a bit, we can always play one of the others.

I'd need a copy of the rules, of course.

Well we can distribute the rules and such and it gives plenty of time for people to leaf through them.

I also loaded the rulebooks onto my phone to read while I wait for the kids. Truly smartphones are amazing.

Some of this stuff doesn't make sense.

Like if you start as a Runebearer you get a crossbow with your starting kit but not the related talent to use it. So what's the penalty for using it untrained?

You shoot yourself in the eye? No?

we should have a house rule that if your weapon jams you have to roll for some sort of mishap.

I agree with that. What about melee weapons? On a certain degree of failure, you accidentally stab yourself?

Definetly. We do this and we'll set up some house rules on mishaps. It'll make things more interesting a week under ground and someone hacks off a foot.

I think I see how the weapon thing works: only "specialist" weapons require a talent to use them.

So stuff like a quarterstaff, short bow, or long sword wouldn't require any talent to use, but a Longbow, pistol or lance would.

Hmm....I guess you can use a crossbow without it then. Cause I see it listed under the Specialist talent but none of the careers have the talent listed.

Durr...it's the pistols and repeaters. More Port is required...

If you manage to "Chop" off your leg with a "Hammer" then I'll be totally impressed.
