Farscape Empty Farscape

Post by Tsukiyumi Mon Jul 01, 2013 11:30 am

Been rewatching the series recently; I'm still blown away by what they accomplished, in regards to acting, sets, makeup and SFX, but even more so in terms of writing. Anyone else a fan?

I worshipped this show when it was on much like I did B5. I can rewatch the seasons over and over and never get tired of it.

It has some of the most clever lines, and sly humor of any show, sci-fi or otherwise ever put on TV. And, say what you will about Muppets, the Henson workshop was able to realize a lot of truly alien creatures with practical effects that look better than CGI from most modern movies.

The level of cultural build they applied in the show, even on the races we saw only once, was astounding.

That's another thing they got right. Most of 'Trek can't hold a candle to the level of detail and creativity that Farscape put into their alien races.

I loved that by the end of even a single episode I would have a firm understanding of any race involved. They put in a constant stream of subtle details to feed the viewers.
