Anybody care if I port over Wallace's backstory as a Synthetic? Its essentially zero cost.

He'd be a combo of the Ash type and the Batty type.

If anyone has the starships books, I'm looking to make a Sulaco type ship. Similar capabilities to whats shown in Aliens and the Technical Manual but she'd be obselete by now. Just posted at Earth for asteroid defense and the odd emergency.

OK, been awhile since I saw Aliens, give me a quick refresher; medium but outmoded weapons, what sort of armor, speed, atmo capabilities, etc.? I'll nail down th particulars from your description.

Yeah medium but outmoded weapons. We're looking for a ship thats primarily a light troop transport with anti-ship and orbital bombardment as secondary roles.

So anti-ship/bombardment would likely be handled by missiles with some small turrets for defence. Sulaco had a ship disabling particle cannon in the Tech Manual as well as some mines and assorted EW stuff. Don't particularly care if the particle cannon makes it in.

Armour, speed and stuff, lets go with light and fast. Don't forget the cryo tubes and to leave a space free for later

OK question: I'm 'bout ready to try and create my suit and gear up my character. It's going to be based on a scout suit, done up for a sapper. What size limit are we going with for the shoulder-mounted weapon, 0.5x lift like for a wrist mounted cyber-gun or something else? Also, I have to assume that shoulder-mounted weapon needs to be used with Gunner skill instead of Guns because of the location and mounting, right?

My standard is just so that its reasonable. Can you carry a shoulder mounted 25mm assault cannon? Yes. Though I would expect it to be built in a way so that you can still use hallways, doors, etc.

In other words we shouldn't be sticking it on as if we ripped it out of an AFV and glued it to your shoulder. So something like that would likely only have the barrel and breech over the shoulder, with the ammo and a feed system on the back.

No, the skill for the weapon is fine. I'm assuming the mount does the work for you, and just follows the marker on your HUD. The skill would more be for reloading and familiarity.

Wait, a 25mm autocannon on your shoulder is reasonable? Laughing Even so, I guess that shoulder-mount 64mm mortar I was hoping for is right out. Wink I'll figure something out once I'm done figuring out my cyberware and fiddling with the onboard sensors and tools. I'm guessing one tool per wrist/arm isn't too cray-cray?

Nice. But I think the 40mm UBGL will have to suffice.
