The Thing (OOC)

Post by Tsukiyumi on Tue Jun 11, 2013 1:57 am

So, I'm thinking a find the founder type game would be cool to do again, except with a bit of Antarctic Lovecraft flavor this time.

One person is The Thing at some point (you don't know when), and can try to turn others; same premise, but with a few twists.

If anyone is interested, we could get this one going later, or now; whatever.

I'm thinking post movie; maybe a rescue team that comes across the outpost.

Re: The Thing (OOC)

Sorry; to clarify for people who have never played the game, here's the rundown:

X number of players (at least five) start. The person running the match cannot play; they give one player, at some point (usually at the start) the secret bad news that they are, in fact, the enemy. Another player secretly becomes a detector (able to test one of the others once per night)

Game play goes in a day/night cycle; each day, the players interact, and can talk, ask questions, etc. Before the night begins, a vote is taken to see whether the players want to try and kill one of the other players (in case they are the enemy).

Afterwards, if there is no enemy left, the game ends. Otherwise, the enemy gets to choose a player to convert to their side... In this case, to turn into another Thing. This continues until either the 'human' players kill all of the enemy side, or the enemy converts a majority to their side.

This can be rather intense, and can lead to some great acting on the part of all involved.

I was always good at the founder game... other than getting killed so often.

This would be great fun and I am in.
